Here's a rundown of what's being said about ND football in the wake of Saturday's debacle ...
News:

Local coverage of the game itself is provided by the South Bend Tribune (more here), the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette (more here), the Chicago Tribune, the Sun-Times, the Indianapolis Star, and the Elkhart Truth. BGI has a quarter-by-quarter rundown of the game. For the masochists among us, some Tech-centered coverage is provided by the AJC.
- Some coverage of Weis's post-game press conference is provided by the Elkhart Truth and BGI. Video of the press conference is available here.
- So far as adjustments for next week go, Charlie Weis has said that he will announce in his press conference on Tuesday who the starter will be for next Saturday's game against Penn State. More coverage of the quarterback situation is provided by the Indy Star, the Sun-Times (more here and here), the Chicago Tribune, and the South Bend Tribune (more here).
- Meanwhile, the loss is leading many who follow the Irish to reconsider their lofty predictions for the '07 season. For coverage in this vein, see the South Bend Tribune (also here, if you really need to see Jeff Carroll gloat), the Northwest Indiana Times, the Gary Post-Tribune, and Michael Rothstein's blog. And for a more hopeful outlook, check out this piece in the SB Trib.
- For coverage of how our defense fared, see the South Bend Tribune.
- And for coverage geared toward the offensive side of the ball, see the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette, the Indianapolis Star, the Northwest Indiana Times, and the Elkhart Truth.
- Ben Ford grades the players and coaches from Saturday's game.
- Like many people, Ben Ford thinks it's time for Jimmy Clausen to start.
- Demetrius Jones, who started at QB for the Irish on Saturday, was profiled in Sunday's Chicago Tribune. For what it's worth, he says that he DOES anticipate starting next Saturday.
- According to a free piece from Scout.com, WR recruit Deion Walker has a current "top three" of Penn State, Florida State, and LSU. He will be at next week's game as an official visitor to PSU, and says he is "considering" taking an official visit to Notre Dame. For what it's worth, his take on Saturday's blowout was that "it showed that they [ND] need wide receivers and made me think that it might be a good place to be and do some things."
